Next Thursday is a Mets day game against Philly and in an event to raise some money for charity, Mike and the Mad Dog will be broadcasting the game live from Shea instead of the usual Mets announcers, Howie Rose and Tom McCarthy. As you well know, Mike and Chris usually do the afternoon drive show on WFAN and neither of them are Mets fans. Francesca is a hah-uge Yankees fan and Dog is a rabid (ha!) Giants fan. (Check out this piece by The Sports Guy Bill Simmons just last Friday when he live-blogged a normal show. It's priceless.) This has to be the worst idea the FAN has ever had. Mike and Chris aren't play by play guys, not even color guys, this will no doubt be the most terrible Mets broadcast ever. God help us if Pedro throws a no-hitter that day. Thank god I'm planning on being there.
